About the CADC: Since 1975, the Connecticut Art Director’s Club is the leading independent professional organization serving the Connecticut creative community. Event website

• Work well as a team member and understand how our technology and processes operate
• Have the opportunity to work on website layouts
• Convert designs into HTML
• Test websites in multiple web browsers on Mac and PC, generate punch lists and fix issues where applicable
• Implement content layouts through a content management system
• Complete client site updates, including design and HTML/CSS content management
• Benefit from creative mentoring and skill-building from the art director, designers and account managers
• Have a strong personal drive to continue learning best practices/protocols and share knowledge

Required Skills:

• Understanding of the fundamentals of web design
• Working knowledge and good skill level in basic web programming (i.e., HTML, CSS
• Strong skill level in programs required for the discipline (i.e., Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.)
• Applied knowledge of web typography and color systems
• Understanding of web-related issues across multiple browsers (i.e., IE, Firefox, Chrome, Safari)
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Additional Experience/Knowledge With a Plus:

• HTML5 and CSS3
• Mobile web and web-app development
• Interface design
• JavaScript
• Flash
• Custom HTML emails
• Print & print production

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Art or Design
• 2-5 years experience in design/web design
• Online portfolio demonstrating design and web production abilities

• Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree or similar.
• 2-3 years of professional experience.
• Knowledge of branding and brand strategy.

• Ability to clearly communicate ideas visually through sketching and computer-generated ideation.
• Strong ability to work with typography, photography and computer-generated graphics.
• Must be competent in Adobe CS4 or CS5 (Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign) working on an Apple computer.

We are seeking another smart, professional, creative and talented designer to join our growing team. This is a full-time salaried position.

The successful candidate will work closely as part of our team to create a variety of projects. The role will vary from project to project and day to day. The person weąre looking for should be able to work independently, execute someone elseąs vision as well as their own. Also key is the ability to work with clients directly and manage project budgets and deadlines as well as handle every aspect of a project ­ from initial rough concepts, to making quick edits, print production experience, contributing your own unique vision on projects, and everything in-between.

• Demonstrate an excellent eye for color, composition, type and detail.

• 1- 3 years design firm or equivalent experience

• Support brand guidelines through quality design work

• Superior written, verbal and interpersonal skills a must
• Proficiency in all Macintosh design programs required
• Generate multiple and distinct design concepts and to self-edit
• Provide constructive creative feedback to other designers
• Receive constructive creative feedback from other designers
• Present personal work and the work of others in a well-articulated, professional manner
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a group
• Experience preparing projects to print
• Organized, thorough and with experience solving complex problems
• Experience with web, electronic media, and PowerPoint design is a must

Level:
3+ years professional experience in branding, packaging, displays, corporate communication publications, web/social media. Quick thinker with exceptional typography, print and graphic design/production skills. Able to manage project from concept to completion, and follow up on projects with client independently as well as work well with a team. Position is hands on ­not just directing others.

Mac proficiency:
CS5 Creative Suite a must. Interactive and App development experience.
Keynote, PowerPoint, Word experience helpful.
