Event Wrap-up:
2010 Student Conference and Scholarship Competition

The 2010 Student Conference and Scholarship Competition, hosted by the CADC for over 10 years, was held on Saturday, April 27th at Sacred Heart University. The conference drew approximately 65 students from across Connecticut.

The event kicked off with keynote speaker Scott Lerman, principal of Lucid Brands, and continued through presentations from Darryl Ohrt and Chris Spada of Humongo, illustrator Adam Niklewicz, photographer John Madere and Kira Karlstrom of ESPN.

Students continued to receive career advice during the afternoon sessions. These programs gave students a chance to be in smaller, more intimate groups. Students participated in a recent graduate panel discussion as well as presentations from creativeplacement’s kHyal and Karl Heine and Mohawk Paper’s Lee Moody.

And let’s not forget the inaugural visit from BookDrive’s Mobile Unit, bringing inspiration to the students through donated previously-owned books and magazines.
